Transformers The Movie - Optimus Prime vs. Bonecrusher

I remember as a little girl I used to love playing transformers with my younger brother. My favorite character was Optimus Prime . He was the leader of the good guys, the Autobots . They all looked up to him and respected him very much. I know, I know I'm talking about a fictional character here but he was real to me. (smile) Every Saturday morning we would curl up in front of the t.v eagerly awaiting the next episode. Now that I'm all grown up (still playful at heart) I can go see the movie and after seeing this movie trailer I'm all game! Are you a transformer fan?

And The Word For The Day Is....

Image
Prioritize ! You know things have taken a turn for the worse if you children and husband look at you crazy every time you sit down at the computer. Yikes! What happened?? I know what happened. Mommy has found a way to do what she loves (writing, meeting people, starting potentially long lasting friendships; nothing wrong with that...right?). Of course not, BUT...it can be when it's interfering with my #1 priority which is my family! Everything is moving so fast! It's time for me to slow down and evaluate where I am and where I am going. How can I get to do the things I love and take care of what and who I need to take care off. There is so much advice on how to do this, like these Women over here at Modern Mom, they seem to have some answers. And, this one (Working Mom), that may help too. When it comes down to it, like my husband always says, you gotta be like Mike and just do it . Do what? Take a good look at the picture you have created. Decide whether or not this is the

The Blacker the Cherry the Sweeter the Juice.....Literally

Image
We had cherries today for an afternoon snack. When I was growing up I used to love eating cherries especially when they came right out of the refrigerator. Umm, umm sooo good! The kids didn't enjoy them as much as I would have liked them too. "Mommy they are not sweet enough. Mommy they are messy. Mommy my hands are turning purple." Oh, the joys of having a little snack turn in to a full blown complaint fest! The blacker the cherry the sweeter the juice. "What did you say Mommy." The blacker the cherry the sweeter the juice! Digging through the bag out comes some darker colored cherries, "Ummm Mommy, these are good". We like cherries now!!! A satisfied Mommy once again! (mind you, this is not the first time we had cherries together, but the first in a long time. amazing how they forget)

Giving Him Something He Can Feel - Sexy Ladies of En Vouge

Oh the memories that come flooding back with this one! he,he,he. Now, I was much too young to understand the fullness of this song and everything it meant. However that did not stop me from singing my heart out in front of my mirror practicing moves I knew I shouldn't be practicing. Oh well, it just prepared me for when the time was right. For when I could sing this song and know exactly what it meant and have someone to sing about. It's amazing what we girls can do. Just look at the faces on the Men, reminds me of a familiar look on D. ' face. Enjoy!!

Who Have You Chosen To Lead You? - DailyOM

Image
Less Than Perfect The Humanity Of Leaders When we recognize someone as a leader, we often place our faith in that person to a degree that exceeds what is humanly possible. In other words, we expect them to be beyond fault and to not make mistakes. This, of course, is neither realistic nor fair. Just like us, these people are living human lives, and part of the deal is learning through experience and working out our individual karmas. There will always be missteps and things they would do differently given a second chance. If we are to be fair, we must grant our leaders the same forgiveness, compassion, and understanding that we grant our closest friends as they navigate the complex challenges of this human life. Leaders are special people in that they have the ability to guide and represent large groups of people. In this calling, they agree, to some degree, to be responsible for the well-being of others. Because of this, we hold them up to a higher standard of behavior, and in some wa

Dorothy Dandridge....A Life Unfulfilled

Image
She was a beautiful actress and singer whose star shone too briefly. Dorothy Dandridge, a fragile boned beauty with skin often described as "cafe au lait", was sadly a victim of her own circumstances. She rose to the top of her profession with her first starring role and became the first black woman to receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. But, just as fast as her success was achieved, so did it begin to fade. She knew it was hard, close to impossible, for a black actress to maintain a long running career in Hollywood because the roles were simply not there. She once said, "If I were white, I could capture the world". Dorothy had the drive and the talent to make it but the color of her skin held her back and her life soon began a downward spiral which in the end turned tragic. To continue reading her story check out Dorothy Dandridge A Life Unfulfilled . You can also click on the videos that are to your right in my blog to view some of h
