Farmers Market Goodies

Image
There was so much to see at the farmers market but, we didn't get to see nearly as much as we wanted before we had to run out of there and pick up our oldest from work. Having a working child has been quite the juggling act. It's been almost 4 months and we still feel like we're running around hectic all the time. It's like adding another baby to the mix where adjustments have to be made which take time to get used to. Before we left we did get to see a few of the gems sold at the market every week. Here is something you may not know about me, I'm a soap addict. I love, love, love a delicious bar of soap. Not just any 'ole soap however. It has to be the ones that are naturally, handmade, they get me every time .  (Hint, hint...if you make soaps and would love a review, I'm your gal ;) Click the button below to see a few pictures ;), enjoy.

A Request From My King

Image
"The fierceness of the lioness is as right and beautiful as the roar of the lion. She is loving and tender towards her young, yet fiercely protective whenever they are threatened." This is the way of a mother and her young. Last night I was compelled to share this picture on  Instagram  that I came across sometime ago, via  Tumblr . I added a combination of quotes from the book I'm currently reading, "A Woman's Worth", by Marianne Williamson and my King left a comment stating that I needed to add more. He is familiar with it because I've read him several passages from the book during our drives together. Hence, this blog post this morning...

They Call Him, Chunky, Our Homeschool Friend

Image
(They make me melt) My children have found themselves a few friends in nature. One in particular is a squirrel that’s always following my oldest prince around. At least once a day it’ll be outside our door waiting to be fed some bread. We all get a kick out of watching it sit down, hold the bread with its claws and eat like it’s at the dinner table, no joke. (We would be the family with a pet squirrel ;)  Their respect for nature continues to grow as moments like these continue to take place in their lives, as moments like these are encouraged by us.

The Shredder VS. The Trash Can

Image
Dammit!!  Did I just put that in the shredder?  Why, oh why the heck didn’t I toss it in the trash can?!  I just lost an important document to my sometimes reckless shredding habits.  It’s irretrievable…gone forever.  In my office, within arms reach I have both a shredder and a trash can.  And for reasons I’ve yet to determine, I often choose to shred items that could just as well go into the trash can.  Maybe it’s the sound of the machine, or just the fascination with the whole process…I don’t know.

What the Heck is #RiseToShine?

Image
I live to inspire, motivate, mobilize, encourage, and uplift others . I've always been this way. It's in my blood. This drives me to get up every day and do what I do but, it's not always easy. A motivator needs to be a strong self-motivator. This is one of the reasons I created rise to shine posts on my social media networks. What is #risetoshine, you ask? I'd be happy to tell you. Rise to shine are a series of picture posts that I started posting on Instagram every morning, or at least by midday, that has some kind of motivational message attached to them. These posts have been inspiring me, tremendously, and my hope was that it would inspire others as well. The responses have been wonderful. I'm so appreciative  of them.  You guys help me to keep going. I get up because I know someone is waiting to hear from me. I get up because I know that today may be the day I save someones life. This is truly a blessing.  Click on the link right under these words

Our Trip to M&M's World

Image
I have a weakness when it comes peanut m&m's. I go crazy for them. Of course I don't get to eat as much as I used to but that's okay because I get to watch my kids indulge. I secretly satisfy my craving vicariously through them.  Today was a "fun" day according to them. We went to the M&M's World store. Their eyes lit up as soon as we pulled up. We were greeted by four huge m&m statues just beckoning us to come on in. And so we did. Buuuuttt,

An Excerpt From 'Whispers From My Soul'

Holding on to this anger has turned into blame, blame has turned me into a victim.  I wanted him in my life. I asked for that experience in order to land me where I am today. If I can accept this then I will no longer need to hold on to the experience to justify my pain.  I will no longer be a victim of my past. I will no longer be stuck in an experience I left because it was toxic. I will no longer experience the shame of having put myself through such pain. I will no longer feel the shame for not making a better decision to not get into the relationship.

Picnic at the Park

Yesterday I enjoyed an impromptu picnic with my children at the park.

Pouring My Sweet Juices Onto My Daughters & Sons

Image
Training our daughters to embrace, love, honor, protect, the Goddesses that they are will result in the healing, nurturing, uplifting, of the men, women, and children of our world. We must invoke the courage and awareness to stand up to the negative messages our world constantly sends them of their self-worth by measure of how pretty they are or not, how unacceptable they are because of their waistline size, how who they are is somehow not good enough. When we as mothers, women realize we are Queens, the ball game changes. No longer will we allow anyone to define us by anything other than who we know ourselves to be. This realization also effects our men because, when a woman recognizes she is, Queen, the men / man in her life will recognize that they are, King. This conversation is an ongoing one that I have with my daughters and sons for that matter, because my sons must recognize the magnificence of a woman, especially when that woman doesn't recognize it for herself.
