Having Some Fun..

Image
I've been busy with the house, decorating and making it a beautiful home for us. One of the best parts about moving in to a new home is that you always have an excuse to go shopping!!! The classroom is almost done so the kids and I got to enjoy a day of arts and crafts. They had a world of fun.

Thursday's Thought of The Day - Mother...#3

To describe my Mother would be to write about a hurricane in it's perfect power. - Maya Angelou I know I'm late with this one, but it was D.'s birthday yesterday and I didn't get a chance to post. This one is one of my favorite quotes. Enjoy!

How Is Your Relationship With.... Self?

Image
Being Alone A Relationship With Self The most important relationship we have in our lives is with our selves. And even though we are the only ones who are present at every moment of our lives—from birth onward—this relationship can be the most difficult one to cultivate. This may be because society places such emphasis on the importance of being in a romantic partnership, even teaching us to set aside our own needs for the needs of another. Until we know ourselves, however, we cannot possibly choose the right relationship to support our mutual growth toward our highest potential. By allowing ourselves to be comfortable with being alone, we can become the people with whom we want to have a relationship. As we move away from tradition and fall into more natural cycles of being in the world today, we may find that there are times where being alone nourishes us and other periods in which a partnership is best for our growth. We may need to learn to create spaces to be alone within rela

My Surprise Visit to the Spa

Image
I was pleasantly surprised on Sunday with a visit to the spa. The last time I went I was pregnant with little j. so it's been long overdue. D. knows exactly what I need, I love these kind of surprises. If you've taken some time to look over my visual DNA you would know that one of my favorite things to do is go to the spa. It doesn't matter what service(s) I'm going to get just being there is an ultimate rush for me. I love the soothing music, the dim lights, the friendly service and the peaceful atmosphere. I always go in a little bit earlier than my scheduled time so that I can relax in the sauna. While I'm sitting in the sauna it seems like all of my stresses are melted away in the heat and my body relaxes itself for my massage. Michael, my masseur is from France. We have a good relationship. He understands what I need and delivers. At first we had to learn each other, you know, it's just like meeting someone for the first time except the diffe

Transformers The Movie Was A Hit!

Image
We went to the drive-in on Saturday evening (something we love doing as a family) to see Transformers and it was FANTASTIC!!! I was extremely pleased and my expectations were met above and beyond. I am such a kid and I love it. I hear there is going to be a prequel, can't wait for that. The kids loved it and so did D. If you haven't seen it as yet what are you waiting for? And, If you're a fan like me , trust me you won't be disappointed. After you've checked it out make sure you come back and let me know!

Janet Jackson - Any Time, Any Place...Literally!

It's Saturday morning and as I'm sitting here at my laptop (in my new office...smile) it begins to rain very hard. I love it when it rains like this, it's something about the mood it creates in me. So as I follow this mood I remember one of my old favorites by Janet Jackson - Any time, Any place. It seems like D and I get such little time together these days. He just left for work, can't wait for him to come home. This ones for you hunny. ;)

Touching Base..

Image
I haven't been able to blog in a few days. The move has got me busy, busy, busy. Everything is going well. My two little ones are trying their best to adjust. You know how moving can take a tole on you so imagine what it's doing to them. I'm hoping by the end of the week they will be fine. It's not easy trying to get things done when you're carrying a little one in the baby carrier while your toddler is hanging around your legs. Overall we are sooo happy and content. Our new home is BEAUTIFUL! I will be taking some pictures to share with all of you. Hopefully I'll have them ready for my WW (wordless Wednesday).

Moving Along..

Over this past weekend we got a lot accomplished with our move. I'm looking forward to this part of it being over with so that we can be settled in our new home. This post sets me up for one of my "filling in the blanks" posts. If you've read my about me page you would know what I'm talking about. After I'm done writing it I will link it here .

Get Focused & Be Content! - DailyOM

Finding Your Joy Be Happy Every Single Day Our lives are rich with potential sources of happiness, but sometimes we become victims of negative thinking because we believe that focusing on all that has gone wrong will provide us with the motivation we need to face the challenges of survival. When we choose to focus on what makes us happy, however, a shift occurs in the fabric of our existence. Finding something to be happy about every single day can help this shift take place. The vantage points from which we view the world are brought into balance, and we can see that being alive truly is a gift to be savored. There is always something we can be happy about—it is simply up to us to identify it. Happiness may not always come easily into your life. You have likely been conditioned to believe that the proper response to unmet expectations is one of sadness, anger, guilt, or fear. To make joy a fixture in your existence, you must first accept that it is within your power to choose happines
