Plant, Grow, Eat!

For years now I’ve wanted to have my own vegetable garden. The thought of planting a seed and watching it grow, as it’s being nurtured, right before my eyes brings a satisfying feeling that words can’t describe. The nurturer in me seeks this fulfilling quest and enjoys the conquer like a delicious piece of yummy chocolate that’s savored on my tongue until completely devoured. (Smacking my tongue right now, lol). Well, this year I was able to do just that with the guidance of my Dad, Mr. Farmer. He’s been growing his vegetable garden for years now. The past couple of years his garden has turned in to a farm . He’s growing, Tomato, Corn, Okra, Egg Plant, Watermelon, Peppers, Cabbage, Zucchini, Broccoli, Cucumber, and, Cauliflower. I’m sure I missed a vegetable or two. The other day I went over there with my grocery bag in hand and didn’t waste any time picking till my hearts delight. You can’t beat the taste of an organic vegetable grown with lots of care and love. In my modest beginn

What You Doing, Janie?

"I'm watching God..." I finished reading "Their Eyes Were Watching God" last night and was sad to see it end. What an amazing read. I absolutely love the movie and watched it too many times to count so I had to get the book in order to fulfill a longing for more. More connection, conversations, feelings, gestures, glances, touch, and love. While reading I felt the bond between Janie and Tea Cake so much stronger. There were times while reading where I would just pause and linger on the sensations my body felt from reading different interactions between those two. When they made Love, I made Love, yes, it was that serious. Have you ever read a book that drew you in so deep that you felt you were the characters or that particular character you connected with? Did you experience, if even for a moment, life between their eyes? In the movie, the phrase, "I'm watching God", was Janie's response to Tea Cake when he found her gazing upon

What’s In My Cup?!

For a long time a searched high and low for a wine that I could order over and over again with complete satisfaction every time. I believe I’ve found that drink, for now that is Moscato D’Asti – Well known within Italy for it’s sweet, fresh and slightly spritzy taste that makes it very easy to drink. I’m not one for dry wines that leaves me wanting to gulp down a whole glass of water while trying to enjoy my drink! No thanks! I like it smooth, sweet and moist all the time. What’s your favorite Wine?

The Hangover Part ll

I was sadly disappointed in this movie. After seeing the first one I was at least expecting to get some hearty laughs with a few tears in my eyes, but didn't get anything close! Part one was great and I thought it was going to be difficult to follow, so I was very giving in knowing that. I can't tell you how many times I looked away from the screen last night in embarrassment for the Actors involved. Really, I personally felt sorry for them, like if my sorrow made any difference in their paycheck, LOL!!! You ask, "Was it that bad?" Yes! Really, it was. All of the reviews I read had my mouth watering to see this film. That's up until yesterday afternoon of course. I read my first negative review and was puzzled at how negative it was. I said to myself, "Nah, they don't know what they talking 'bout, lol. This movie is going to be goooood". Sadly, they were right on the money. This is my opinion and I won't include any s
