New Soccer Mom Strikes OUT!

Image
Like a Lioness protecting her cub...I pounced! It was a ruff day at my kids soccer game today. Particularly my daughters. The Moms and Dads on her team take the game wayyyy toooo seriously for me. Last week I moved away from them and sat in my truck just to get some peace. I understand very well the joy in cheering for your children during their games. When I was younger and my little brother played basketball I was the loudest person on the court, no lie. I was passionate and was driven by that passion to cheer endlessly for him. Ask my husband and he'll tell you that's one of the things he remembers about me. Every game you could count on me cheering my brothers team on.  But, what happens when that same passion comes from parents who are all fired up and want their kid to win not matter what?... A FREAKIN MADHOUSE! I heard about it, and now, have experienced it for myself.  The Ball - The Game...I Say Let Them PLAY! What are you doing now?

Parish Atlanta - Review of the Day

Image
Parish is a unique dining experience in the evolving community in Inman Park Atlanta, GA. Their website describes them best as, "...unique people and lively music all coming together in this melting pot of Southern vibrant culture within Inman Park - Parish: Foods and Goods. Catering to no one by catering to everyone, PARISH is a restaurant, a market, a deli, a community haven."  I love this little restaurant; especially for their tasty, scrumptious breakfast foods and teas! Speaking of teas, one of my favorites is the Ginger Pear Tea...delish! Parish has two sides to it, both of which I truly enjoy. Upstairs, in their restaurant you can experience both indoor and outdoor dining with a full waiter service. Here is where you can enjoy a taste of their brunch or dinner foods which are tasty dishes like their infamous Belgium Waffles! Brunch is only offered on Saturday's and Sunday's from 10-3. I made the mistake of showing up with an empty belly, read

National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

Image
How are you fabulous, gorgeous, amazing, wonderful, inspiring, HUMAN BEINGS doing? Each day I think of you! Each moment I'm inspired to create because of you! I'm here and BEING who I am because I have a desire to give...to you! I just want to say... THANK YOU! Saturday, March 10th was National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day , did you know? I didn't have a clue until I was asked by Author Skyy Banks who is also a freelance writer, and staunch activist for HIV/AIDS awareness,  to be a guest blogger and write an inspirational article that would leave women feeling on top of the world. I wrote it and hoped that it would inspire at least one beautiful soul. I wrote it and hoped to inject a spark that would get their engines going. I wrote it and hoped that someone, somewhere would be inspired and I want to share it with you! Follow this link and it will take you to the article. #daretobeinspired #NWGHAAD

I'm A New Fast Girl with Lady of The Hour - Jasai Madden

Image
For the past 7 Monday's I have had the utmost priviledge of being part of an awesome movement that has literally been life changing. And the best part about it is, I'm not alone.  It's a movement! It's life changing! It's an on going life journey! What is it?It's The New Fast Girls!  The New Fast Girls: Fasting: An Ancient Practice For the Modern Girl by Jasai Madden Our fast begins Monday morning at sunrise to Tuesday morning at sunrise - an entire 24 hours. During this time all kinds of things come up for me that require my undivided attention. I remember one week I came face to face with that little diva in me (we refer to her as our little girl) who eats just for comfort when she's not even hungry. Boy oh boy was she pissed off at me. She wanted me to EAT! She wanted me to stick some food in my mouth because she wasn't "feeling" good, she was confronting me, asking me questions like, why in the hell are you doing this to yours

Creating Lasting Love Tip #7...The Massage

Image
Creating Lasting Love Tip #7 from Lisa Charles on Vimeo . This Love Tip is one of my favorites so far, because of what it can mean for the both of you. Touch is a way to relax your partner, become engaged physically with your partner, get the Love Juices flowing between you and your partner, and it can be very non-intrusive, if that's what you want.  Touch is also a way to show someone that you care about making them feel good, accepted, valued and loved. So often we can go through our busy lives passing one another, and never stop to think to ourselves, did I touch my partner today in a way that made them feel loved.  In my video I briefly touched on some ways you can get the massage going - I want to go deeper into those tips for you here. ~ Oil Massage oil is very important as it can enhance the (your) mood or stop the flow of things completely. There is nothing like laying down, all ready to be rubbed, and you get hit with a scent that's offensive to
