I’m Glad I Did It!

After it was all said and done, I completed the Virginia-Highland Summerfest Road Race 5K sprinting across the finish line…well, more like jogging but hey, I made it!!! View Full Album Everyone had a great time and was so proud of themselves for finishing the race in whatever way they did. Some of us ran, jogged, walked and even did some wogging (lol), whatever way they found fit to reach their goal it was done. I really didn’t know what to expect when I first got down there. Race participants were everywhere and so was my head :-) My heart was racing, my palms were sweaty but I knew I was in good hands so I relaxed and fell into the groove of things. The Blog Rollers were waiting for everyone to arrive and when I did I saw Christie (my inspiration that I needed to push me over the edge and do this) I was cool. I got my name tag that had everyone’s twitter handle on it so we could all stay in touch during and after the race. Twitter is another story for me because I haven’t been

On Again, Off Again...Now, It's ON!!

Ok, so after going back and forth with this for about a month now, I came to my last and finale decision...I'm in!!! Saturday is a big day for me and my family. This will be my very first Run/Walk Race Event and I'm totally excited and ready to do this and make it my first with many more to come! My Dad is 70 plus years of age and still walks miles and miles almost everyday. As a child growing up watching him hit the track at Windgate Park in Brooklyn, NY gave me the inspiration and desire to make exercising a part of my life. I was never one to shy away from going with him and trying my very best to keep up, it did me good to get that practice in. In High School I ran track for a little while and loved it! So, why has it taken me so long to decide that I was going to do this run on Saturday after signing up late April? My nerves are shot!! LOL! I hadn't trained the way I would have liked to.
