Fabulous Finds Friday #19 - One Word
I was inspired by some of my favorite bloggers and came up with my word for 2014. Here we go...
Engage - To capture, catch, arrest, grab, snag, draw, attract, gain, win, hold, grip, captivate, engross, absorb, occupy, participate or become involved in. Engage.

After giving myself time to feel my way into the word that is going to set the pace for me this year, ENGAGE came rolling forth.
I was ready. I was open. I was prepared for anything.
A few words came up like, good enough, vulnerable, open, receive but they just didn't feel brand new to me. Those are words that have had their way with me for sometime. I've become pretty familiar with them. Don't get me wrong, they are still some powerful words that would do wonders for anyone. But this year I needed more and I wasn't afraid to dig a little deeper for it. I wasn't afraid of not having a word right away either. Patience lead me here.
(Found this photo on Pinterest. It's on my board named, "Picture Me". This board contains pictures that represent my word for this year. Stop by when you can.)

On new years eve me, David, and our kids made a list of what we were grateful for in the year 2013, and a list of things we wanted to manifest for the year ahead. We lit candles, burned sage and gathered together to read our lists out loud. One accruing theme among our manifestations was engaging with others and ourselves in ways we have yet to experience. Creating deeper, more meaningful relationships that will grow with us for years to come. Showing up, being fully present in every way possible.
We need this in our lives. This is why I wasn't surprised we all had it listed. This is why when the word engage came to me I knew it was for me, for us.
I made a promise to wholeheartedly adorn myself with this word. I promised to delve into what this word wants to pull out of me this year. When I said this word is for me and us I was meaning my family and you. I'm open to being a vessel for whatever we need, allowing the word engage to lead me. I'm ready.
