Xobni Rocks! Invites Available at Lisa C Writes
For years, we have been die hard Gmail users. We had long turned our backs on Outlook and its little brother Outlook Express. Until recently when I had to begin using Outlook to collaborate with other people in the company through Exchange. We discovered that we could IMAP our multitude of Gmail accounts and have them all synchronized on our respective computers. That was absolutely awesome, and made using Outlook lots more fun and useful. In fact we've seldom been back to Gmail since.
Just when we were getting nice and comfy with our new Outlook setup we came across this incredibly sexy application called Xobni (that's Inbox backwards). After watching the video which we've shared with you below, we knew we had to have it. Xobni is free while still in Beta, and from what I hear should remain that way for personal use when it is launched. Bill Gates has referred to Xobni as "the next generation of social networking". Because of it's incredible popularity there is an extremely long wait for a download invitation when you request it directly from the company.
Well we're not much for waiting so we went to work to get our Xobni on! Believe me, it took some James Bond, Ethan Hunt & Charlies Angels moves just to get an invite to download this incredible application - but We Did It!!! And we are happy to share our good fortune with you.
Thanks to the good folks at Xobni, we have 9 invites that we'll be giving away in a special Lisa C Writes Xobni Giveaway. The giveaway rules are simple. We'll give away 2 Xobni invites each day until they're all gone. Here's what you have to do:
Post a comment telling us what you like most about Xobni, what email program you're currently using and where you first heard about it. We'll pick two winners from the list each day. Make sure you use a valid email address when you comment so that we can send you the invite. Good Luck!

Bill Gates Talks About Xobni:
I use gmail and yahoo. I have Outlook, but I haven't used it in ages. Xobni would be an opportunity for me to use it again, which would help me bunches, since I have so many accounts to keep up with.
ReplyDeleteDidn't hear about Xobni until I came to your blog, Lisa. :)
I am SO not technical. It's a good thing my hubby is to he's up to date and what to get.
ReplyDeleteI'd be wondering are that many folks really waiting on it or is that a "marketing" technique to get folks to switch over?
im gonna have to chk that out
ReplyDeleteThat is wild!!
ReplyDeleteI am a longtime user of Outlook and hate being away from it for even 2 seconds.
The Xobni "search" feature sounds so very useful because I hate having to search through emails. It takes me 10 minutes of searching to find an attachment.
Congratulations to Dee and Torrance!!! You two are the first ones to win a Xobni invite. You will have it before the night is over.
ReplyDeleteAly~ It really is true. Like D. said, we searched high and low to find the ones that we have. So if you want one, tell us what emailing system you're using right now.
Monique~ We think you're going to love it! You'll have yours tomorrow :)
Who's going to be next?
Hey Lisa,
ReplyDeleteThis is the first I've heard of this! Very interesting, I am currently a user of yahoo, gmail and outlook. I use outlook the least.
But this sounds like something that could definitely simplify my life.
Regina~ Simplicity is what I look for in everything, LOL!! I think you'll love it and won't want to go back.
ReplyDeleteYou'll have your invite tomorrow!
Hi! I'm a die-hard software geek who uses outlook 2007, gmail, yahoo...and tries to sync everything all the time. Xobni looks sweet and I would really like to see how the networking tool works out. I suspect it would be something like "the chart" on the L word. I've been looking all over for an invite.....Pretty please!!
ReplyDeleteRhonda~ You got it! Sending it over right now :) Let me know how it works for you~
