Help Me Nail This Down!

Lately I've been having a heard time growing my nails. I don't bite them. I'm not doing anything different than what I've been doing, washing dishes, giving the kids baths, shampooing hair etc. etc. Just the usual Mommy duties but I just can't seem to get them to grow any more.
So on my quest for a good nail strengthener I came across one, but I'm not about to spend the $15 that it costs. I heard it's really good and would help my nails to grow but I'm not about to spend that much!

Ladies, I need your help. What do you use to help grow your nails? Can you recommend a nail strengthener that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

  1. Any of the Sally Hansen products for nail strength. They are classified for the issue you are having.

    I hope this helps.

  2. First smooth your nails out with a buffer to remove any ridges. Moisturize your cuticles (you can even use olive oil) I would recommend Salley Hansen Hard as Nails. It is cheap and it does the job. The key I think is to start with smooth nails and moisture those cuticles daily and you should see some results. I hope that helps!

  3. I too have to recommend Sally Hansen Hard as nails OR the Instant Strength Nail Strengthener, I use both, they're not expensive and they work great, I have very brittle nails and can't grow them worth a darn, but using these things, they make then at least stronger.

  5. I've always used the nail strengthener by Avon. It's less than $4 and it works for me. Give it a try.

  7. This might sound crazy, but the one thing that worked best for me is a cortisol supplement from GNC or a health food store. These supplements are made from magnolia bark or something magnolia, and they are designed to keep your cortisol levels down (that's the stress hormone that your body naturally lowers with insulin - which adversely affects any weight loss efforts.) The side effect to these supplements is that they help shrink tummy fat. There were even ads on tv for a while advertising these kinds of supplements as a natural weight loss pill.

Ok, so when I took these to help with stress levels when we were living with my dad and my hubby was working out of town, my normally soft fingernails got super hard and grew really long.

Oh, and I had to buy a belt for my jeans.
