It's Time to Shine the ***Spotlight***

Follow me for a moment while I do some much needed bragging!! If you've taken some time to look back into my archives or have been around for a while (thank you, to my faithful readers) you would have learned that I am one of my parents four children and the only girl I might add. No I'm not spoiled, just ask my hubby ;) Anyways, this post is not about me nor my two oldest (right now, at least) it's about my baby brother. But please believe me when I say this, I use baby very lightly because as of now he stands around 6'1, 6'2 that's about 8-9 inches taller than me!!! Yes I know, I'm short. Short, cute, sassy....oh there I go again, now where was I. Oh yes, my baby brother...lol. His name is Wayne Alibey ! I'll pause for a moment while you read over his resume. Alrighty ladies, I know, I know ;) Did you check out his skillz?? I still can't get over the being 'Fluent Armenian' part. The next time I see him I have to ask him about ...

Missing My Love

I miss my boo. He's gotten so busy with his new schedule at work that he hasn't had the time to blog as much as he would like too. I miss his thoughts, his words and his creativity that brings it all together. He had to put it on pause because first things first , which is something he's never confused about. His last post is a reflection of what his heart desires not to do so I know that even though it's been a minute he will not go under. Baby I know how much you dig Talib , so this one's for you ;-) Enjoy, even though you're at work! Check out my other post about Talib delivering his word on Def Jam! He's speaking truth!

They Are Black & Yes, They Are Beautiful!!!

Using their influence through the arts these compelling, talented and beautiful women left their mark on history. They sang, they danced, performed and wrote their hearts out to anyone who would listen and learn. Learn what made them beautiful, learn what made them free, learn what made them smile. Many of them had to fight just to be heard because of the color of their skin. In the face of prejudices and unequally they shined anyway and paved the road for the many talents that we see today. Talents such as Alicia Keyes , Halle Berry , Macy Gray , Angie Stone , Beyonce , Loretta Devine , Janet Jackson , Chrisette Michele , Meagan Good , Erykah Badu , Angela Bassett , Jada Pinkett-Smith and so many more, I just don't have the time and space to list them all. Please take a moment to look at this video and in to the lives of some of these beautiful women by clicking on a link below. You'll be amazed at what you didn't know. I hope you enjoy!! Have a Happy Friday :) The...

Browsing around today I came across this cute little quiz. Everyone who knows me also knows that I enjoy these from time to time. After taking it once this was my answer. It's funny how these things can be right on the money or way out in left field. I tried changing it around to see what other results I would get. None of them came close. I guess the first time around is always a charm. If you have some down time and wanna play, click on the link below. I'd love to see what's your style. Thanks Sincere ! My good friend, Erina over at Inner Ink has tagged me to spread the word. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and although it's coming to an end, being aware of this disease does not have too. Ladies, it's so important to get regular mammograms. Will you, before it's too late? I'm tagging Mrs. G & Jordan to spread the word! (By the way, Inner Ink is Erina's new blog. When you have a minute, stop on over and support her on her new journey). You go girl!! :) See more of my Wordless Wednesdays !

My Monday Morning Boost!!

For those of you who need a little boost and inspiration this morning, take a look at this short clip. It helped me to get going, my hope is that it will lift you too! Enjoy :)

Just A Quick Update...

Image
These past few weeks have been very very busy for me. In the midst of all the new changes D. got a promotion and we've had to make so many adjustments to accommodate our new schedule, it's been hectic! I'm still here doing my best to keep in touch and not allow my blogging obligations to fall by the way side. To my many blogging friends, know that you are on my mind and I'll be around to visiting with you soon :)

Thursday's Thought of the Day..#12 - I'm A Thoughtful Blogger!!

Image
I was awarded the Thoughtful Blogger Award by my good blogging buddies Rolando and Erina . I thought how appropriate for a Thursday's Thought of the Day!!! This award was originally created by Cristy over at Writer's Reviews . She created this award with these words in mind, The Thoughtful Blogger Award: "For those who answer blog comments, emails, and make their visitors feel at home on their blogs. For the people who take others feelings into consideration before speaking out and who are kind and courteous. Also for all of those bloggers who spend so much of their time helping others bloggers design, improve, and fix their sites. This award is for those generous bloggers who think of others". If I could give it back to the two who gave it to me, I would. They are truly the thoughtful ones. I would like to present this award to the following bloggers: Shelia Mariuca Jon Bobby Congratulations!!!

My Shooting Star...

Image
I was just standing outside taking one of my nightly breaks. I do this often when I have to clear my head. I love looking up at the sky at night. Something about it seems so peaceful and relaxing. My mind wonders on it's awesomeness and I'm reminded of how small I am. Tonight for the first time in my life I saw a shooting star. Did I just see what I thought I saw? In a sky that is so familiar to me I usually know what to expect. The moon, stars, airplanes passing by ever so often. And on some nights it's cloudy so all I see is the fog and the moon trying it's best to shine through. In a sky so familiar to me tonight I saw something different. A shooting star may (to some) not be a big deal. It went by rather quickly, as I suppose they do. Just like that it came and was gone before I really had time to think on it. Why tonight? In all of my years, being outside at night looking up into the sky I had never had this experience before. Should I make it a big deal? Should ...

When Life Brings Change, Just Flow With It!

I want you to stop for a moment and take a deep breath with me. Ok, ready. Inhale......and exhale. Again, inhale.....and exhale. Good! Now let's begin. :) Within the space of a week and a half I have joined a new homeschooling group and met with them on Tuesday of last week. I enrolled my three older children in a music class, today was their second time going. David and I took on a new business venture after going to a meeting at my Mother's home last week Sunday. I'll write about it soon. I reunited with some really good friends of the family and found out that their daughter has graduated with a degree in early childcare hence the chance to have a date night last Sunday night. She was awesome with the children. The timing is perfect. This will allow us time to build our business and feel good about leaving our children for business related outings, such as the one next week in Dallas, Texas. Our oldest has also started taking a knitting class with this same young l...
