I'm an Angel - A Victoria's Secret Angel!!
Ok, so the other day I walked into Victoria's Secret and got bum rushed by employees. Lovely ones mind you, but I still felt attacked (in a friendly kindda way, I guess). Then that feeling slowly turned into me blushing and feeling like a celebrity...hmmm this could be nice.
Shelly was her name, the one who won my attention. She was very friendly and truly made me feel like I was on the Red Carpet. Shelly told me all about the special sales, what's hot, what's new. That's when she mentioned the new "Angels". "Hmmm, Angels?, I say. Tell me more".
It's soft, smooth and moves with you. Comfortable, stylish and sexy. I'm thinking that's sounds good, but I'm nursing so is this a nursing gals bra? Yes, Bra! Shelly was describing the new Angels Bra Collection as if it were made of pure silk. She said it's definitely not a nursing gals bra but it's a bra for when you don't want to feel like "Mommy". It's for when you want to feel "all woman", if you know what I mean. I said, "No she didn't, this girl is working me". Apparently she did a good job so I said, "Bring it on Shelly, let me see what you got, but before we do that I need a bra fitting specialist, is there one available"? Miss lady pulled out her measuring tape and said, "Here I am, are you ready?" HA! "Right here? In the middle of the store?" Yes!
After sizing me up, which she did rather quickly and smoothly like she could do this with her eyes closed, she said, "I can set you up in a dressing room, bring you the bra drawers and let you try on the different styles until you find your fit". I thought she was going to offer me a glass of wine with that order too, would have been nice.
As soon as she opens the dressing room door, BAM!, right in my face was a sign that said STRIP in bright pink lights...lol!! And so I did. I tried on two bra's and they were ok but the next one I tried on was the ONE. It's soft like she said, comfortable, and sexy!! Black with a pink bow in the middle. A very small and cute bow, sort of like this one.
Shelly knocked on the door to see if I was ok, I said yes but would you take a look and tell me what you think? I opened the door and the look on her face made me feel like I was a star! I wonder if they are trained to give that look? Of course she said it looked great, would you like to try another? I said no, this ONE will do. Mind you, I just walked in to browse, not to purchase a $46 bra.
Standing at the cash register I got to thinking, what would it be like if I worked at Victoria's Secret? Toying around with the idea out loud, I engaged the manager in conversation about working part time. Do you know that after the conversation I was basically offered the job if I wanted it? "You're kidding me, right?" No, she said as she handed me an application. Hahaha, me work?, outside of my home...what would that be like? I haven't worked in nine years. That's a long time! But I tell you what, lately I've been having that itch. The stay at home moms itch, wanting to work outside of the home for a change.
To work or not to work, that is the question?
After a visit like that to Victoria's I would love to be able to go, shop and buy as I please. When I came home I modeled my new Angels Bra for D. The only thing is that I didn't have a pair of wings ;)

That was cute. Well, if you decide to work there part-time, I bet you would get a discount :-)
ReplyDeletegreat blog...i do think you could get a discount but then you would spend your paycheck on bras...
ReplyDeleteohhh honey I loved your post! Ain't it funny how "nice" sales folk make you wanna spend all ya lil money. LOLOL! Glad you were able to be treated like a "red carpet angel" for a day.
ReplyDeletep.s. I feel ya on the "workin outside the home thing" haven't been off quite 9 years but I'm gettin there.
The itch is weird, once you start working you get another itch to go back to staying at home. Once you are home you get another itch to go back to work. All this itching and not enough scratching.
ReplyDeletePart-time might not be so bad, but will they really pay enough to make it worth your while?
ReplyDeleteSomeone I know once worked there and it seems they were given some of the bras so they could provide the customer with first hand knowledge.
Paula ~ thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteSuzie ~ Ha! That wouldn't be the idea. Although, it could happen.
Aly Cat 121 ~ Thank you, thank you! After working so hard all day, it's nice to be treated like royalty even if it's to get me to spend my money. They were tryin' to make me make it rain in there...lol!
Mrs. Grapevine ~ Do you want to scratch this itch? Let me know...
Aj ~ This job wouldn't be for the $$$$, b/c if it were I would spend it all on daycare.
The extra cash is cool, but anytime I ever worked at the mall my money always went back to the stores.
ReplyDeleteThat's great that she gave you excellent service to even consider working there.
VS Rocks!
Rolando, thanks for stopping by and sharing some love. Vickie's does rock!
ReplyDeleteYou do so have wings! I see them :)
ReplyDeleteVS does have gorgeous things. I also love their swimsuits. They fit like a second skin.
I think it would be marvelous if you had a part-time job. Then, you would have extra cash to buy yourself chocolates and other sweet things. You deserve luxury.
