Happy Anniversary!!!!!

Image
I can't believe it's been seven years!!!! Who would have thought that two kids who sat in Sunday school together (being taught by his mom) when we were 7 years old would, after all these years, be here today, together. Not us, but here we are looking forward to the rest of our amazing lives together. I Love You D. !!!

My Me Time...

Image
I just love my Saturday's! Saturday is my day, well not exactly the whole day, just the early morning until I say ok, they must need me now. I look forward to having my me time, with a busy house it's sometimes the only time I get. I haven't been able to take my Saturday in 3 weeks, we've been that busy. But this morning it was a must. I usually go to one of my favorite book stores, Borders Book Store, and order a honey vanilla latte and something to nibble on. I find my spot right next to the window and catch up on 'Me'. This is when I catch up on writing in my journal because all through the week I only have time for one liners. I also catch up on grading school work, making calls, reading, writing down up coming events for the next week in my organizer, and a whole lot of 'clear' thinking. You know the kind you get to do when you don't have kids or hubby around who might interupt your thinking, just clear thoughts being allowed to flow. But toda...

It's Finally Over!!

Image
Well, that seemed to work! I finally got what I wanted. I called the phone company and extended a great deal of patience when I told the rep. what was going on. He quickly pulled up my records and took a look at the long list of previous issues that I have had. Mind you, it took him a long time to read them. This is one of the reasons I didn't like calling because I would always have to start over from the beginning with each new rep. After he read it, I kindly asked him to speak to his supervisor. He said are you sure it's not something I can handle for you today. Nope! I just need to speak to your supervisor. He put me on hold. You are not going to believe what happened next, I got sent back into the que. I didn't get upset, I've come to accept that these things will happen when dealing with these people. I just laughed it off and held on until someone picked up my call and had to start all over again. My plan was to stay calm with everyone I spoke too, my ob...

Unbelievable!

Disconnect WHAT?? I've been having problems with my phone company. Ever since we made the switch back in October it's been nothing short of a headache. They came to my house this morning saying that they had to collect a whopping $455, my eyes popped out of my head. Here's the run down. When we switched service in October, the next day we woke up and both of our phone lines were disconnected (the reason for the switch was to add a second line to use for our business and we wanted to have this company provide all of our services-cable, phone, and internet) they came to my house and couldn't figure out what happened. Why weren’t the phones working. After a couple of hours they finally got it worked out and promised us that our caller id's should be working by the end of the day. It's February, the caller id's still don't say what we want them too. A few weeks later we couldn't receive calls but we could call out. People were telling us that every time ...

It's All Good!

Blogger.com! This is the place. It's simple enough. What I've learned over the past couple of weeks has helped me to maneuver my way around and get comfortable here. It's on now! Let the fun begin!

So Many Decisions....It's Not That Serious.....REALLY!

Lately I've been trying to figure out where I want to host my blog. I don't know much, just a tiny bit, about HTML. It's funny, the other day I read about someone who was having the same kind of trouble figuring this thing out and they wrote: HTML stands for Hate Mail. Just brutal. It's difficult when learning a different language. D. says to me, just google it, which he's right. It's been helping. I like all of the different things I can do to my blog on 360, yahoo makes it so easy for you. I am having a lot of trouble figuring out wordpress, very advanced. I've also been looking into blogger to host my blog there, it's somewhat user friendly like yahoo. I've been reading about feeds, I think that's going to help me to keep everything in one place, I think. I'll sure be glad when all of this, getting my blog/and or blogs, is out of the way so that I can just BLOG! Looking forward to this week, Tanisha will be handing in her report tomorro...

Blogs And More Blogs!

Image
O.k, I must admit, I've been getting caught up reading and reading other people's blogs. This whole new world that has opened up to me is just so fascinating. I mean other people's lives are so interesting. All we hear about are the "famous" people in the world. But you know what, the lives of everyday people are actually more interesting and real. I'll be adding some of the blogs that have my interest to my blogroll. Check them out you never know you might be intrigued as well. Yesterday I saw this Dove commercial that I just fell in love with. We need more messages like these that help our girls to feel good about themselves. It let's them know that this is what "real beauty" looks like. Yeah....things are progressing and coming along. D. and I are closer to putting together our lastest project. We are just working out the kinks and getting everything set up. In the meantime we've decided to slow down just a bit with our business. Fo...

Happy Birthday Gabrielle!!

Image
Yesterday was Gabrielle's Birthday Day. She woke up feeling like the princess she is, knowing that the whole day was going to be about her. Good morning mommy with a big smile on her face. We hugged and laughed, she couldn't wait for this day. She said to me "mommy I'm catching up to David now", all I could do was laugh and say "yes baby you are". She had a smile on her face that was so big how could I tell her she wasn't. We decorated the house the night before, so when she came downstairs her eyes lit up when she saw everything. We sang happy birthday to her then she opened her gifts. She took her time opening the gifts, she didn't want to ruin the pretty rapping paper. That's Gabby for you. She posed for the camera after opening all of her gifts, she's loves taking pictures. Her daddy being the photographer that he is, one day told me "she's got it"...got what I asked..."it", "it"...I said ok...she...

My First Love & My Sanctuary

Image
Anthony Hamilton's song is playing in the background (my first love) and the mood is set. I'm on the phone with my mom (well my mother-in-law, I call her my mom). She just spoke at a women's conference with over 1oo women. She tell's me she just spoke from her heart. Many of them came to her after it was over with tears in their eyes because they were touched by what she shared and how it helped her. My mom has been such an inspiration to me. From my mothering, to my homeschooling, to my marraige, to my friendships, to my relationship with her. I never thought much about my relationship with my mother-in-law before I got married all I remember are some of the horror stories I was told. Things that I had to let go of. Well, I thank God for my mother-in-law, she's been there for me. We have a very close relationship. It's open, honest, and loving. I'm able to share without being judged. I can be me. Now, for my Sanctuary....my place to get away in my thought...

Blogger Mommy.....

I've been at a blank for the past couple of days. D. and I are working on a project that has not allowed me anymore space in my brain for much else. That includes writing. I sat down at my laptop two nights ago and I tried my best to get the words together in my head so that I could get them to come through my fingers. Nope, couldn't do it, just wasn't going to happen. Here I am, it's 3:49 Victoria's sleeping, D. & David have gone to help our neighbor who is without transportion at this time, Gabby is taking a bath (one of her favorite moments, too cute), Tanisha is trying to figure out how to spend her time wisely for the rest of her day, and finally I've got a moment to myself. Well sort of, I'm in the bathroom of course with Gabby, so it's kind of a break. Where do I begin. Oh,oh here come's Tanisha , she just asked me how can I work in an enviornment like this....yes I have to admit it is HOT in here, the mirror is fogged up and eve...

The Beautiful ~ Mrs. Coretta Scott King!

Image
A Celebration of her life, it truly was. Her funeral was held today at New Birth Cathedral . The church D. and I were members of for many years. Dr. King and Coretta's youngest daughter is an Elder there. It was one, if not thee most incredible funerals I've ever witnessed in my life. Many people were present but it was the quality of it all that made it great. Four President's were in attendance. President Bush and his wife Laura, former President's Clinton and his wife Hilary, President Bush Senior, and President Carter. They all spoke and spoke well. I was a little disappointed with all the praise they got when they approached the pulpit, it almost felt like a Presidential debate, but things were quickly put into check as the Clinton's and Carter spoke. Mayor Shirley Franklin spoke with power and conviction. I felt her strength as every word came out of her mouth. Sister Shabazz ( Malcom X' first born) touched my heart with her compassion and love fo...

Success.......Yes it Was!!!

Image
The party was awesome!!! The food was great! We had mini-eggroles, sandwich roles, chips & dips, brocoli & carrots, punch, two bottles of Arbor Mist, little chocolate kisses that decorated the table, and mints to freshen up. The amount of food we had was just right. At first I was concerned with over doing it, but it worked out. Everyone enjoyed the variety. The house was decorated with pink balloons (one of my favorite colors), and wine glass candles that made the mood feel good. I got many complements on how nice everything looked. I want to say thanks to the ladies that took the time to RSVP me, it helped. Thanks to the ladies that actually came out and blessed the party with your lovely presence. It wouldn't have been the same without you. I hope it was fun, educational, and inspiring for you. We'll make sure to tell the ladies who didn't come they missed a good treat. Tracy did an outstanding job She set the mood, made everyone comfortable and relaxed ready ...

Slumber Party on it's way.....

Image
I've been very busy with the planning of my party. Things have been very hectic. I just had to stop this morning and say to D., take over please before I drive myself nuts. I love having parties and planning parties but when it comes to my own I would rather someone else take over. I have about 15 people so far and many more have yet to RSVP. I have my outfit picked out, the food list is finally finalized, I still have to go to the store and buy the decorations and a few more things. The house still has to be cleaned which I have assigned jobs to everyone. Each of the children have their own part. We still have to figure out where and what D. and the kids will be doing. Our plan A was to have them hang out and my brothers house since his wife is coming, but my kids have all come down with runny noses. Can't take them to his house because he has 5 kids of his own. Plan B was to go to the drive-in, however, the party starts at 5pm, the drive-in does not open until much later. Wh...

So...I guess I've decided to make this place my new home....

O.k, I'm getting ready to blog and I ask D. how do I add color to my letters? You know what he tells me? I would need to add HTML....HUH??? OK, I know what that means but I don't know if I want to go through the process just to add color to my letters. I'd rather not. Let me stop myself from going any further. The reality is that my 360 blog will have many different features than this one and if I stay here I'll have to get used to it and blog on. Cool. Of course after hanging around here I've discovered that this might not work out. It's a bit advanced for me, oh well...and the search is still on. This morning was a very sad morning for me. I just heard that Mrs. King has past. My heart goes out to the King family. I've got Victoria on my lap and she's trying to fall asleep. It's pretty uncomfortable for her and me. I'm going to have to cut this one short and pick up later. Until then.... Lisa ;)

I'm Up Late...Again :(

It's not so bad!!! D. is trying to figure something out with this blogging thing. We have our own hosting package and we are thinking about moving my blog over there. If he can figure it out (which I know he will) I'll have a new home soon. He tells me I'll be able to have multiple pages over there, which is something I'll like. You know for my multiple personalities nah, let me stop. He asked me to blog something so he could test it out. All I need is an excuse to blog. I think I'm addicted. Could it be? Look people it's been how many years since I've been in the baby making club, don't get me wrong I loved it, now it's me time and I love it too. Ok, gotta run all he needed was a quick test. Nighty Night ~ L

~My Moment~

Finally, a moment to sit and blog. Things have been hectic around here lately. We have been dropping, and bagging fliers like crazy The response has been good. We have never worked like this before on any of the businesses we had in the past. With D. home now we have the time and each other to lean on in so many ways. We encourage each other to keep going. The kids are great. They are doing their part too and having fun with it. Side Note: I'm sitting here typing watching Victoria in our meeting room sitting down watching a Veggie Tales movie. She loves them! It's so cute to watch how focused she is. It's like she understands everything going on. She'll come up to us hand us a video tape and the remote control and point to the t.v. She is only 16 months. It's amazing how much she knows. I have to go change her diaper, she just came over to me and in her little way told me she needs to be changed. Be right back! O.k I'm back. That was a nice little suprise fo...
